Frequency analysis with SOLIDWORKS Simulation uses an Eigen value method of identifying the natural modes of vibration for any geometry, which can then be used to carry out changes to material, component sections, mass dampers amongst others to ensure that component natural frequencies do not coincide with the frequency of the loading environment.

Thermal Structural Simulation

Thermal structural analysis applies finite element methodology to establish the temperature distribution within a solid structure, due to the heat loads, heat loss and thermal contact resistance in your design. The impact on a design which occurs when dropping it onto a hard surface can be analysed using the drop test analysis within SOLIDWORKS Simulation. Nonlinear Simulation

Nonlinear stress analysis allows you to identify stresses and deformations under most general loading and material conditions for dynamic loads, large component deformations and nonlinear materials such as rubber, or metals beyond their yield point. Although more complex in approach, the results provide a more accurate solution than linear analysis, if the basic assumptions of a linear analysis are violated.

Post Dynamic Simulation

Dynamic Analysis allows designers to determine the impact of time varying loads on the structural response of their design and can incorporate frequency, impact and drop tests. Once component displacement over time has been calculated, stresses, velocities and accelerations can be determined alongside natural modes of vibration.
