Case Study - Ronstan UK Limited

Ronstan are a multinational design and manufacturer of parts used in the marine industry. They have been leading the way for marine parts design and manufacture for over 50 years. They recently designed parts for Ellan Macarthur's round the world boat using SolidWorks.

They needed to move from a 2D CAD system to 3D to better integrate with their Australian parent company. They needed a system that would be easy to use and would help them to accurately design complex parts.

SolidWorks has allowed Ronstan to accurately design complex assemblies and has massively reduced the errors that can occur between the design and manufacture processes. It allows them to visualise how a part should look before it is made. They use SolidWorks Simulation to test pressures and stress of parts allowing them to save time in testing parts through not having to do it manually.
