Jacuzzi UK is one of the country’s largest Bathroom and Spa manufactures.
They are responsible for leading brands, Jacuzzi, B.C. Sanitan, Niagara and
Vernon Tutbury, in addition to their own brands for large multiples and export.
To give you an idea of their success, Jacuzzi UK recently displayed an amazing
200 off new products at one of the industry’s leading shows. New products in
the shop windows are vital to service changing consumer fashion and demand!
Tony Bishop, Design and Innovation Manager, says, “There is constant pressure
for our designers to bring new products to market quickly. SolidWorks
makes it possible for us to achieve this.”
Tony adds, “We rely totally on SolidWorks. Hence, it is paramount that the
support from our vendor is second-to-none. NT CAD CAM Ltd has demonstrated
this to us and we now use them for all our SolidWorks requirements.”
However, SolidWorks was not Tony’s first choice. When Jacuzzi UK required
design software that would create 3D organic shapes for bathrooms, initially
they used a system called DeskArtes, dedicated to the ceramic and jewellery
industry.
This system however lacked the analytical information and precision required
to transfer design quickly to manufacture. A test of complex radius and curves
was set for the leading engineering software systems, such as Pro/Engineer,
AutoCad Mechanical and SolidWorks. Tony says, “Only SolidWorks was able to
meet our complex shape design parameters!”
The initial purchase of SolidWorks, for Jacuzzi UK’s Newcastle-Under-Lyme
bench- casting and sanitaryware plant, came from supplier, Solid Solutions.
Later, Jacuzzi UK’s Bradford-based production site, making shower enclosures
and acrylic baths, opted for supplier NT CADCAM Ltd, who were able to provide
local training facilities. Tony comments, “We needed to standardise on our
SolidWorks supplier. Based on their service and support performance, we easily
selected NT CADCAM Ltd.”
Today, SolidWorks and NT CADCAM Ltd enable Jacuzzi UK to keep ahead of
rapid market changes. 3D rendered images enable new designs to be trialled
and assessed, without misinterpretation, by Jacuzzi UK’s marketing team and
customers alike. Using SolidWorks engineering capabilities, and confident of
sales, the designs are then quickly and accurately transferred to CNC machines
and tooling specialists for casting.
Tony says “Our systems have to run without fault, this we achieve with the
help of NT CADCAM Ltd making it possible to bring new products to market
rapidly, satisfying the consumers’ desires and ensuring continued success for
Jacuzzi UK.” |
