SolidWorks Success at Homedics

Salter’s continuing popularity means they are expanding their design team, which is responsible for keeping the brand’s products not only cosmetically attractive, but accurate, easy-to-use and excellent value for the consumer.

Recently, Jamie Collier, NT CADCAM’s sales engineer, called Salter to ensure they were making full use of the support services available from them for the SolidWorks 3D CAD system they operate. Coming just as Salter was employing two new Junior Design Engineers, Karen Brown, Design and Technical Manager for Salter, felt NT CADCAM’s enthusiasm to support their client was timely.

Karen says, “NT CADCAM Ltd’s Support Team have helped us on countless occasions, their response has been consistently quick, constructive and effective in its solution. We have also benefited from their training in specialist SolidWorks functions like PhotoWorks, and their Webinars are also an excellent source of information.”

In addition to generating winning designs, Salter’s design department is responsible for market research and managing product manufacturing that is contracted out to the Far East. This means that some staff members do not operate a 3D Computer aided design system for several months, with the risk of being be a little rusty when they start up again.

Karen says, “The fact that we have NT CADCAM’s support and that SolidWorks is so intuitive to use means that, even after extended periods, our staff are able to pick up where they left off very quickly. This is one of the key reasons for the selection of our current 3D CAD arrangement.”
