| The Fitzgerald Lighting Group is the largest independent lighting manufacturer in Europe - based in the UK. They manufacture and distribute a large range of high quality luminaires and fittings around the world. They offer a complete design, manufacture and delivery service under complete control. They invest in research and development in order to pave the way for the future.
Fitzgerald lighting use a variety of different modelling processes like solid modelling, sheet metal, punching and mould flow, they needed a package that could do everything under one roof. They were existing AutoCAD users and so needed the ability to reuse legacy data and also to use the new data in AutoCAD. They need a windows based tool that would give them as much flexibility as possible.
SolidWorks has given them one system for all their design needs. It allows them to produce a prototype much quicker and more accurately. It has also given them the desired flexibility to transfer data to and from other CAD packages.
