Eschmann design team explains, "Operating tables are required to perform simultaneous movements of the tabletop and we were looking at ways to enhance our modelling of those multiple movements prior to building prototype table mechanisms."

The sophistication of 3D modelling provided by SolidWorks means they are able to model full table movements on screen and produce drawings to enable manufacture of each specialist table with the close tolerances required for accurate control and movement in the operating theatre.
