For example, SolidWorks gives Axiom GB Ltd the ability to communicate their sheet metal laser cutting requirements by exporting a design model as a dxf file; this can then be readily laid out and converted into the required laser cutting pattern. Previously, a whole new set of sheet metal detailed cutting drawings would have required drafting.
