Salary: £35k - £45k per annum

This is an opportunity to become an integral part of Inca’s New Product Development team, developing new products, improving current designs and ensuring that robust design and documentation packages are delivered.
You will be involved with everything from complete machine chassis to intricate ink supply systems and will have the opportunity to see your designs move from concept through to full production.
We need a high quality team player with an HNC/HND or equivalent, a minimum of five years experience of machinery design in a multi-disciplinary environment, and a desire to get things right first time.
A minimum of two years SolidWorks experience is essential.
We now seek an outstanding
individual to head up the design team and further develop the vital function of design engineering. A significant element of the role will be to champion an ‘Engineering for Production’ philosophy, exploring every opportunity to rationalise design and assembly methods with a view to optimising process efficiencies.

The roles involve design and
production of engineering drawings for both innovative components and complete packaged fuel cell systems, via the use of 3D CAD software. Demonstration of excellent problem solving abilities, being able to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team and good communication skills are essential. Involvement in the design progression from prototype demonstrators to small quantity batch production will also be expected. Experience in aspects of thermal, fluid, electrical and structural elements of engineering will also be desirable.
The ideal candidate will be a
qualified
and experienced 3D (SolidWorks) CAD engineer with a good working knowledge of engineering medium/large mechanical assemblies and the stature to quickly become a key member of the department. Working as a key member of
the product design team, you will be required to own and manage full design projects from conception through to completion, handover to production and beyond. A high level of self-motivation, design experience in manufacturing, coupled with the desire to have a significant influence on the final product design is essential.
